How many gallons of oil is in the oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico?

Actually, it turns out the 5,000 barrels a day estimate is way off. It's probably more like 70,000 barrels a day of oil spilling into the gulf. As for its shape, it's dispersing quite a bit, turning up in of tar washing up on the shoreline.
