Is there any DSLR that can be bought without the infrared block on the sensor?
I am looking to buy a new dslr camera sometime soon here, and one of the things i want to play around with is infrared photography. I know that almost all, if not all, DSLRs come with an IR blocking filter underneath the main sensor, under the mirrors. Does any one know if there is a way to purchase a DSLR without this filter? I understand that without that filter, i would need to purchase a ir blocking filter to go over the lense if i want to take a normal photograph, and a separate filter, likewise, for an IR photograph. Or, is modifying the camera my only option here?
