Your thoughts of " straightforward " people canving around your neighborhood " directly " asking you for ?

I get very aggravated with them as I donate to the homeless charity of my choice with a check never cash. I'm never sure if the door to door canving is 'for real'. The schools no longer let the kids do that for their music band drives for fear of what might happen to the kids. For persistent ones I warn them that I intend to call 911 as I have a stranger lurking around my house and I reach for my shotgun which is near the front door. it's a very good persistence deterrent.
